I believe that like you or me, god is just another artist. He invented the giraffe, the spider and the cat. He has no real style. Like him, you and I just invent new things.
I invent values for myself:

- Random acts of kindness and senseless beauty

I value these values and am free to create whatever I am inspired to from these values with my fellow human beings.
Service is a value that takes me into another dimension of life, away from the struggle and grind of daily routine and survival. Here's somthing that Martin Luther King Jr. said that is a touchstone for me:
“Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You don't have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don't have to know Einstein's Theory of Relativity to serve. You don't have to know the Second Theory of Thermodynamics in Physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
